Festival de la Banquise

The Festival de la Banquise invites you to a festive winter weekend in March. Saturday kicks off with ice canoeing lessons on the St. Lawrence River, a canoe waxing demonstration, and continues in the evening with a cocktail-conference on the history of ice canoeing, followed by a traditional dance evening under a heated tent. On Sunday, the traditional ice canoe race takes place! Come cheer on the 225 canoeists who will brave the ice between Portneuf and Lotbinière for the 20th edition of the Festival de la Banquise! To keep spectators warm, the site will feature entertainment and a host of free activities. Come celebrate this unique sport, a true part of Quebec's heritage!
