Festival de la Banquise

The Festival de la Banquise invites you to a festive winter weekend in March. Saturday kicks off with introductory ice canoeing sessions on the St. Lawrence River, followed by a community gathering in the evening. On Sunday, gather for the traditional ice canoe race—come cheer on the 225 paddlers who will brave the ice between Portneuf and Lotbinière for the 22nd edition of the Course de la Banquise! To keep spectators warm, the site will be bustling with a host of free activities. Come celebrate this sport, unique in the world and a hallmark of Quebec’s heritage!
