Orchestre Métropolitain at the foot of Mount Royal
Orchestre Métropolitain at the foot of Mount Royal
A staple of Montréal’s summer season, the OM Grand Concert at the foot of Mount Royal, presented by CN in collaboration with Le Groupe Maurice, brings together thousands of people each year for a free outdoor performance. As part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of Mount Royal Park and presented within the CAM en tournée program, the 11th edition of the concert will be conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and hosted by Fabiola Nyrva Aladin, ambassador of the event. For the occasion, the Orchestre Métropolitain will perform the magnificent Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 by Edvard Grieg, renowned for its powerful and evocative atmosphere, as well as Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” by Antonín Dvořák, a vast musical mosaic celebrating the richness of American influences and cultures. The program will also feature a work by Ana Sokolović, a Serbian-born composer based in Montréal since 1992, along with the romantic flair of Québécois composer Guillaume Couture in Rêverie.
