Published on July 7, 2025 • Attractions to discover
At the Parc régional des Îles-de-Saint-Timothée, about an hour’s drive from Montreal, you’ll find an amazing beach! Set down your towel and take a minute to appreciate how the water sparkles: you can already tell it will do you good.

Ville de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
As you arrive, you'll discover the expansive beach of golden sand bordering the river. The water is clear, supervised and inviting. Families settle in for the day and the atmosphere is nicely laid-back.
A simple, carefully thought-out set up
At the Parc régional des Îles-de-Saint-Timothée, you can enjoy a host of outdoor equipment. Boats (kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and pedal boats) are available to rent for a playful excursion on the water that will allow you to explore a little further. It is also possible to reserve a cabana with a table for those who need a bit more shade, comfort and convenience.
Between dips in the water, some visitors set up a picnic, while others prefer to relax. There's room for everyone, whether your goal is to get moving or to unwind.
In the evening, stick around for the view…and the sounds
Some nights, the crowd stays a while after the swim. Throughout the summer, live music shows pop-up occasionally just as the sun takes its leave. This gives beach-goers a fun bonus concert as the sky above takes on a hint of gold. It’s a totally new experience.
Beyond the beach
Encircling the site is a popular bike path (the boucle cyclable du Bassin Saint-Timothée). You can also go for a leisurely walk on the path or watch the birds in the naturally landscaped zones. Go from games and sports to nature, without even leaving the park!
A beach with room for all
At Saint-Timothée, inclusion is a priority. A new accessible carpeted path allows for easier entry into the water for people with reduced mobility. It is also possible to rent a paddleboard adapted for wheelchairs.
The beach is open all summer. Don't forget to book your admission online since no tickets are sold at the entrance.
