You don’t have to go far to leave the world behind in L’Islet. Nature is all around, with country roads, forest trails and river views all beckoning. Everything to entice you to get out and play in the fresh air. Whether on a bike, on a quad (ATV) or in a golf cart, explore it all at your own pace.

On a bike: ride for the fun, stop for the view

Cycling in L’Islet will have you alternating between vigorous pedalling and coasting, while discovering road biking itineraries that are sure to wow you.

Among the biking musts, the Véloroute champêtre et du lac Trois-Saumons follows the natural curves of the land, taking you to discover built heritage gems, gourmet stops and glimpses of the St. Lawrence River. It’s ideal for recreational cyclists who enjoy simple pleasures. For a more challenging route, the Trois-Saumons Lake stretch will have your calves burning as the steep climbs lead to views that are fully worth the physical effort.

On an ATV: explore well-marked trails in nature

With five circuits available on the Ondago app and its 1,890 kilometres of marked trails, L’Islet is a joy to explore on ATV. Go out for a couple of hours or plan a longer getaway.  Nature abounds, as does the fun and sense of freedom.

Along the way, be sure to climb the 40-metre Trois-Saumons Lake lookout tower to take in breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding area. Plus, it’s free!

When the time comes to stop for the night, Éco-Chalets Monk, just off the Quad 10 trail, has everything you need: ecological build, comfort, tranquility and amenities.

In a golf cart: two golf courses with different atmospheres

Want to play a round of golf with friends or perfect your swing in a relaxing setting? L’Islet has two truly exceptional golf clubs. 

Pond and small bridge on a golf course

In Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Club de golf Trois-Saumons offers clear views and impeccable greens dotted with water hazards and sand traps for a fun challenge.

Further south, Club de golf Saint-Pamphile promises a peaceful experience for all skill levels, on a course bordered by a forest. The covered bridge and windmill add rural charm.
