For its 31st edition, taking place from August 2 to 4 in Little Italy, from August 9 and 11 on the Esplanade Tranquille in the Quartier des Spectacles, and in many other boroughs in Montreal, ItalfestMTL will feature many free concerts, including these three which you won’t want to miss!
Nicola Ciccone
Singer-songwriter of Italian origin Nicola Ciccone has made his mark on the French music scene with touching, rhythmic and heartfelt songs like “J’t’aime tout court,” “J’t’aime pas, j’t’adore” and “Oh toi mon père.” Over the last 25 years, Nicola has earned several platinum and gold records, and performed thousands of shows all over the French-speaking world. Today, he continues to release albums and captivate audiences across Quebec with his mesmerizing voice and original songs. Nicola Ciccone will perform on August 2 at 9 p.m. on the Mastro & San Daniele stage in Little Italy.
La Bohème
One of the most important works in the operatic repertoire, Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème, which premiered in 1896, is an opera in four acts, set in Paris in the 1830s. Depicting the love stories of young bohemian artists struggling with poverty and disease, this opera is celebrated for its emotional depth and masterful orchestration, making it a powerful portrayal of love, loss and the human spirit. The opera will take place on August 4 at 9 p.m. on the Mastro & San Daniele stage in Little Italy, and is sponsored by Ricasoli.
Italian electronic/folk band Kalàscima and singer-songwriter Andrea Ramolo

Kalàscima feat. Andrea Ramolo is an international collaboration of Italian world music, featuring the Italian electronic/folk band Kalàscima and singer-songwriter Andrea Ramolo. With its varied instruments, Andrea’s spellbinding voice and Kalàscima’s unique musical sounds, this concert combines traditional and folk music with a twist of hip hop, folk and other Mediterranean beats, reflecting the soul and passion of southern Italy. The show is sure to put audiences into a mystical trance! The concert will be held on August 11 at 9 p.m. on the Esplanade Tranquille.
