Évangéline The Musical: a show steeped in memory
Published on September 1, 2025 • Featured Events
There are love stories that never fade away. They remain, deep in our hearts, even when the books are closed and dates are forgotten. That's the story of Évangéline. A tale of exile and resistance, which takes on its full power when told by people who are close to the story and share its heritage. Starting February 2026, this tale will be told once again as a musical. A powerful, touching, necessary moment, to be seen throughout Quebec.

An epic tale of love, loss and courage
The year is 1755, and thousands of Acadians are deported. Evangeline and Gabriel, two young lovers, were separated by the tragedy of the Great Upheaval. But the musical Évangéline is much more than a romantic drama inspired by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem. It is also an opportunity to shine a light on the history of a people torn from their land, but never from their identity. What is striking about this production is its raw humanity, its intimate look at a period we might think we know. It is also a mirror: a reflection of our own connection to the land, to our roots, to our ancestors.
A production anchored in strength and sensitivity
On stage, stunning sets will bring the story to life using an aesthetic reminiscent of great adventure films. The visuals are expected to be powerful, the voices sincere, and the original music memorable. Twenty new songs have been written for this production.

Évangéline promises to be a highly intense show, where every element serves a purpose and where the audience will be captivated by the power of the cast. This is not light entertainment. It’s a piece that will take us straight from the shoulder, without false emotion, but told with genuine emotion that will undoubtedly continue to resonate within us, even after the curtain has fallen.
Touring across Quebec and bringing people together
