La Virée Trad Festival
A festive program that brings people together
For three days, let yourself be swept up by the sound of traditional music performed by Genticorum, Traverse, La Famille LeBlanc, Startijenn and other talented groups.
Over the weekend, meet 50-some producers and artisans at Gaspésie’s largest farmers’ market. Then, get fully into the spirit by attending jig, violin, guitar and basketmaking workshops, among others!
Finally, take a breather at bakery and pastry shop La mie véritable, where you can enjoy food made with local ingredients.
A variety of activities that will immerse you in Quebec’s living heritage!
A night to celebrate
On Saturday night, attend one of the highlights of the festival: the traditional dance evening, embodying Quebec identity and culture.
Join 400 people on the dance floor for this musical celebration. The featured band this year is É.T.É, with Ghislain Jutras as the caller.
Everyone is invited to this epic intergenerational event. Try your hand at square dance, country-dance (also known as contra dance) and quadrille, to the rhythm of traditional Quebec music.
Make the fun last in Gaspésie
Want to enjoy the region a little longer after attending the festival? Gaspésie is beautiful in the fall, with its unique forest and maritime landscapes awash in colour.
Venture into the mountains for hiking or mountain biking; discover marine life on a whale- and seal-watching cruise; explore 2,600 km of trails on ATV and discover breathtaking viewpoints; or continue your cultural immersion by visiting interpretation centres, museums and historical sites.
Plan your Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in Gaspésie without delay to make sure you don’t miss the unique La Virée Trad festival!
