A touching, larger-than-life show 

Each summer in Saguenay, more than 140 volunteer actors create a spectacular living fresco of the major events in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean’s history, taking audiences on a journey through time in an immersive world of sound and imagery. Narrated by the “spirit of the fjord,” the show presents striking scenes in which live horses, pyrotechnics and touching moments converge, inviting spectators to experience the soul of a region with emotion and pride.

Significant events through history

Created by Ghislain Bouchard in 1988 to commemorate Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean’s 150th anniversary, this large-scale show was initially meant to be performed for only one season, but quickly became a veritable institution. Since then, more than 1.3 million people have been moved by this epic historical narrative—soon to be 1.4 million this summer. 

The show depicts the birth of a region, the courage of land clearers and the strength of a community. Significant events, such as the great fire of 1870, the tragedy of Saint-Jean-Vianney and the flood of 1996, are interwoven with vivid scenes from daily life in a deeply human narrative that resonates far beyond the region.
