Behind the scenes of a Quebec theatre icon
Through the exhibition Brew. Of Taverns and Men, La Pulperie immerses visitors in a legendary world of taverns and the cult play that brought their stories to the stage. With over 3,300 performances that have delighted three million spectators, Broue takes the spotlight once more with an exhibition that brings visitors behind the scenes. The exhibit features a total of 186 objects (such as costumes, props, and set pieces), including 174 artifacts from the Musée de la civilisation and 12 on loan from the actors. Rare footage also shines a light on the skilled artisans who made it all possible. And in this dance of men and memory, we discover a Quebec that’s raw, moving, and rich with humour. A new way to explore culture!
Jean-Jules Soucy, the freedom of art
Opening on June 7, 2025, Hello Jean-Jules! invites visitors to enter a vibrant universe, shaped by laughter, repurposed objects, and a profound love for the city of La Baie. Get ready to walk in the footsteps of Jean-Jules Soucy, the free-spirited, profoundly compassionate artist whose imagination extends far beyond his famous Pyramide des Ha! Ha! Each piece lures you in, and every turn will take you by surprise. In this world, nothing is set in stone: everything moves, smiles, and comes to life. This exhibition is a poignant tribute to his career and the beautiful chaos that remains part of his legacy.
An exhibition that puts mechanical innovation to the test
With Mechanical Ingenuity, step into Léon Brassard’s world, where gears and models come to life through meticulous ingenuity. His miniature trucks stand as thinking machines, with each precise movement becoming a mechanical work of art. Every detail fits seamlessly, each suspension breathes life, and every screw has its place. And above all, each vehicle tells the story of a man with an innovative mind. This exhibition, shaped by detail, patience, and quiet complexity, runs until September 28, 2025.
