Chants de Vielles
From June 27 to 29, 2025, Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu in Montérégie will come alive to the sound of the 21st Festival Chants de Vielles. In a rural, friendly and eco-responsible setting, music lovers will discover a wide range of traditional, folk and baroque music featuring vocals and string instruments, including the famous hurdy-gurdy (vielle à roue in French, which the festival is named after!). On the program: major shows featuring artists from across Quebec and around the world, as well as activities and workshops for the whole family.
Big shows by the water, to the beat of tradition
During the three days of festivities, the Grands concerts invite you to enjoy beautiful summer evenings by the river. Performed on the main stage in a riverside park in the charming village of Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, they will showcase the rich musical heritage of Quebec, North America and Europe. Get carried back in time by traditional Quebec songs, jigs and folk music, Irish and Celtic music, and gems from Haute-Auvergne and French Louisiana. A unique opportunity to discover world-class artists in an inviting atmosphere.
A singalong dragon boat ride
All aboard for a singing dragon boat ride on the Richelieu River! A singer will lead you in call-and-response songs while you paddle to the beat in a festive ambiance. What fun! Reserved for festival pass holders who are 14 or older, this one-hour activity, held on Saturday and Sunday, leaves from the Ferdinand-Fecteau dock. Get ready for a truly original experience on the water!
Local products and handicrafts
Stop by Le Jardin du Chevreuil, an inviting space in which to discover local foods and handicrafts. Browse the booths displaying items made by skilled artisans or talented luthiers, or take a refreshment break at one of the bars or at the Troubadour artisanal bagel stand, with its wonderful selection of local products. There is also a food truck with a wood-burning oven.
The Espace Trad Famille tent has creative activities to entertain the little ones. Storytelling on the Richelieu River and oversized traditional wooden games are sure to spark the curiosity and imagination of everyone in the family.
