Music and history strike a chord
While music is often considered a hobby, we sometimes forget that it can also tell stories, communicate values and amplify social and political causes. The Retro – Popular Music in Canada From the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s exhibition takes you on a deep dive into Canada’s music history.
Travel across Canada through songs by Canadian artists who contributed to shaping their era. You will never hear these songs the same way again! Also admire the various stage costumes, album covers, photos, videos, handwritten lyrics and musical instruments. The exhibition runs from June 6, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Take a trip around the world at the Canadian Children’s Museum
The Canadian Children’s Museum, located within the Canadian Museum of History, invites children to take a trip around the world to learn about different cultures. Here, children are encouraged to get up close, touch and explore everything with their hands, as they so love to do!
With their exploration booklet in hand, they can find out what life is like in Mexico, Nigeria, Japan and many other places. If you have a budding actor in the family, they can don a theatre costume inspired by Ancient Greece to really get into the spirit. Enjoy family fun and make memories that will become part of your own history.
