Fir tree in nature.

10 farms in Quebec where you can pick your own Christmas tree

Published on November 17, 2025 Collection

From late November to mid-December, several plantations in Quebec open to the public to allow you to cut your own natural pine tree to take home. Enjoy the full experience—from cutting the tree on the land to decorating it at home—with your family, sweetheart or friends (and why not while also sipping delicious hot chocolate!). It's a wonderful way to make your holiday season even more memorable and feel like you're in a Christmas movie! Get organized now since reservations are required at most tree farms and the number of trees available can be limited.

Recycle your Christmas tree🎄

Be sure to properly dispose of your Christmas tree once the festivities are over. Chopping the trunk to make firewood or infusing the pine needles to flavour drinks and dishes are some eco-friendlier ways to ensure you get the most out of your tree!

Sourcing your tree the right way 🌲

Please note that cutting down a tree in a public forest in Quebec is strictly prohibited without a permit from the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec, which is why it's important to purchase your tree directly from a tree farm. It's also a way to support local producers!
