Indigenous Tourism Quebec
Explore the Eeyou Istchee territory with the Nibiischii Corporation
Located northwest of Chibougamau, the Nibiischii Corporation (meaning “Land of Water, the place where the great natural waters of the North are born”) invites you to discover more than 12,000 km² of boreal wilderness, dotted with dense forests and thousands of spectacular lakes and rivers.
The rustic atihkw (the Eeyou word for “caribou”) cabins and the mwakw (Eeyou for “loon”) on-ice cabins on Waconichi Lake offer everything you need for a comfortable winter getaway amid breathtaking scenery. You can relax in the sauna, explore the trails on snowshoes or Hok skis, experience the thrill of paraskiing, or stargaze under the vast northern sky.
Boutique Wachiya: a tribute to Eeyou crafts
Travel at the heart of Montreal's Old Port with a visit to Boutique Wachiya, nestled in the heart of Eeyou traditions. Each creation—jewelry, clothing, and decorative items—is carefully crafted, reflecting authentic craftsmanship and meaning. Sometimes traditional, sometimes modern, these items are a living souvenir to offer yourself or give to your loved ones, embodying the sharing of Indigenous cultures in Quebec. This winter, let yourself be moved by treasures that tell a story.
Discover Indigenous art at the Hôtel de Glace
Starting December 27, 2025, Québec City’s legendary Hôtel de Glace (Ice Hotel) will unveil a spectacular new edition with fleeting experiences that celebrate the fusion of ice and First Nations and Inuit cultures.
For the second consecutive year, Indigenous Tourism Quebec is collaborating with the Ice Hotel to offer an immersive experience at the heart of the cultures of Quebec's 11 Indigenous Nations. The Shaputuan invites you to warm up while discovering the rich diversity of the Nations, while the artisans' market, presented on February 21 and March 7, 2026, will highlight Indigenous talent and crafts.
Also discover the Deluxe Suite presented by Nunavik Tourism, which will transport you to Inuit territory, as well as the Main Hall presented by Tourisme Wendake, a true cultural showcase at the heart of the experience.
While you’re in the area, be sure to visit the Wendat community of Wendake, just minutes from the site, to learn more about the Wendat Nation.
