Published on October 6, 2025 • Destinations to explore
Picking your own fruits and vegetables, days out in nature, Halloween celebrations... so many fall favourites to enjoy – and you surely don’t want to miss any of them in the Saint-Hyacinthe region!
Saint-Hyacinthe Region
The Saint-Hyacinthe region has plenty of seasonal events, memorable encounters, unique attractions and local flavours in store for you for fans of the season. Here are three ideas of things for families to do in the region on weekends in October.
Go squash-picking at La Fille du Roy
Fall is always a festive time at La Fille du Roy. Visitors can pick squash and pumpkins, as well as ground cherries and tomatillos. There are also fun activities to do on site: the giant maze in the cornfields and the playground are sure to delight the kids, who’ll definitely want to burn off some energy after enjoying a delicious wood-fired pizza for lunch.
Before heading home, stop by the kiosk and store to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables as well as homestyle products. The muffins, pies and soups sold there are made from the farm’s harvest and prepared with love and expertise!
Visit the Daniel A. Séguin Garden
The Daniel A. Séguin Garden is a 4.5-hectare floral park that combines horticulture and educational discovery and is the perfect place for a stroll. In the fall, it offers a magical atmosphere where nature is adorned with a thousand vibrant hues.
On weekends in October, visitors of all ages are sure to enjoy the symphony of foliage in the garden. There will also be Halloween-themed activities, ideal for adding a festive touch to a garden visit with creating colourful memories together.
Celebrate Halloween with birds of prey!
Open Friday through Monday, Chouette à voir! is a nature site that immerses parents and children in the fascinating world of birds of prey. Watch spectacular flights, visit the rehabilitation complex or take a walk along the forest trails. Looking for a unique souvenir? Strike a pose with a bird on your fist!
This is another place that will be celebrating Halloween, on October 25 and 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Look forward to candy, themed costumes, storytelling, face painting for kids, bird flight presentations and much more—and of course, it’s a chance to put on your best disguise!
