What’s new in the Laurentians this winter?

Winter in the Laurentians is more than just a season — it’s an invitation to discover! From snow sports on the slopes of the highest peaks, to well-deserved moments of relaxation, to a host of unique accommodation options, the region promises an unforgettable experience. Of course, there are plenty of reasons to escape to the heart of these breathtaking landscapes, but here are three new features to check out this winter for a stay in the Laurentians.

The reopening of Hotel Mont Gabriel

Hotel Mont Gabriel, a wonderful estate on a mountaintop, has joined the Tribute Portfolio banner of the Tidan Hotel and Real Estate Group. Thanks to an investment of over $20 million, the hotel has undergone major renovations and is now officially reopened to the public. The new design features elements of nature, an organic feel and a modern rustic style. Major renovations have also served to update the terrace and outdoor facilities, not to mention the 136 rooms and new extension to the building. A 4,000 ft² space has also been added for meetings.

New accommodations at Les Toits du Monde

Les Toits du Monde, a company specializing in unusual and eco-friendly accommodations, has unveiled its latest unit: Eventyr, the Viking house. Nestled in the village of Nominingue in the heart of the Laurentians, this new creation invites explorers from all horizons to experience total immersion in the fascinating world of the Vikings. With its large, rough-hewn central wooden table, stone fireplace and tree trunks forming the corners of the building, this Viking-inspired house is the ideal place to gather with friends and toast in horn-rimmed glasses! This new accommodation comfortably sleeps six.

Night skiing at Ski Mont Blanc

Since December 2024, the trails at the Ski Mont Blanc resort have been lit in the evening with high-energy LEDs! Night skiing until 8 p.m. is offered three days a week on the Versant Blanc trails: Yodel, Boulevard, Moustache, Mambo, Dufour, Slalom Géant, Chemin Philip and Grand-Maman. And to enchant the little ones, the La Robert trail has a special and different kind of lighting that makes it stand out.
