This 66th edition of the Festival des Sucres de Saint-Pierre-Baptiste promises litres of maple syrup and a folksy atmosphere. A warm welcome is guaranteed! A strong tradition dating back to 1958 Syrup lovers from across the province will be gathering on the grounds of Saint-Pierre-Baptiste’s municipal sugar bush to celebrate the maple sap harvest and the return of spring. Rooted in a long-standing tradition, this big family celebration offers four days of festivities, including the can’t miss sugaring-off party, where young and old will have a chance to taste the famous local maple taffy. It’s the perfect time to get the family together to make the most of spring. Plenty of fully free activities Beyond sweet treats, the Festival des Sucres offers a long list of fully free activities sure to delight the whole family. A softball tournament, activities for kids, bingo, music shows and a horse pulling contest are on the agenda. The program highlights country artists, traditional Quebecois music and festive songs. A dozen artists will take to the stage over the course of the weekend, including Steve Desmarais, la Famille Jean-Nil Guillemette, les Cuillères à Carreaux, as well as Louise Mailhot and guests.
