From October 7 to 9, celebrate Quebec’s cultural heritage at the 21st edition of the La Virée Trad Festival in Carleton-sur-Mer. Located in the Baie-des-Chaleurs region in Gaspésie, the festival showcases traditional song, music and dance, storytelling, arts and crafts, and local food products.

You can also take in a number of indoor and outdoor shows as well as free activities. Choose from an array of packages or a passport to make the most of your outing. Other discounts are also available for students, newcomers and seniors. What’s more, kids under 12 can access the outdoor site for free! Visit the website to learn more.

Celebrate Quebec culture in an enchanting setting

Nestled between the ocean and the mountains, this intergenerational festival also showcases local artisans and producers at the biggest public market in Gaspésie. After tasting some delicious treats, why not attend a lecture, visit an exhibition or participate in a workshop on podorhythmia (also known as foot tapping), the violin or the jig.

Afterwards, listen to musical performances by artists such as Grosse Isle, Les Grands Hurleurs, Le Vent du Nord, Dominique Dupuis and many more! Visit the website for the full lineup and schedule!

Get your groove on!

Grab your friends and head over to the Centre des congrès de la Gaspésie for an evening of traditional dancing! Get ready to step into the world of traditional dance and music alongside dancers of all levels. Enjoy live traditional folk music as you try your hand at square dancing, contra dancing and the quadrille with caller Yaëlle Azoulay. What better way to celebrate Quebec’s cultural identity!

Discover extraordinary tourist attractions

Even if summer is over, there are still plenty of great places to stay and eat in the region! Why not enjoy delicious, locally sourced mussels, oysters, vegetables and other products at St-Honoré, one of the best restaurants in town!

Looking for a unique overnight experience in the breathtaking Baie-des-Chaleurs region? Why not spend a night (or two) in a ready-to-camp geodome at the top of Mont Saint-Joseph! Another excellent option is the Carleton-sur-Mer campground. During your stay, you’ll have access to a number of services—not to mention a front-row seat to breathtaking views of the region!

So, will you be one of the 7,000 festival goers celebrating Quebec culture at La Virée Trad?
