August 10 to 13, put your thoughts on paper for Correspondances d’Eastman, a festival dedicated to literary arts. This one-of-a-kind event includes meetings with authors, writing workshops, masterclasses, activities for kids and big shows for this celebration of the magical power of words.

Spotlight on the 15th edition

Exploring the theme "Archipels francophones" (French-speaking archipelagos) and sponsored by famous author Dany Laferrière, the festival will welcome writers from around the world. A great opportunity to chat with writers or indulge in quiet reading, with a drink, on the patio of the new lounge space. Activities include a masterclass by Dany Laferrière, a tribute show to Jack Kerouac, an interview of Laferrière by Rodney St-Éloi, a conference on the topic of exile with Alina Dumitrescu, Akos Verboczy and Ouanessa Younsi, a literary brunch with Michel Rabagliati and a show by Les Sœurs Boulay.

Youth activities

To promote the joy of reading to kids and teens, Correspondances d’Eastman has plenty of activities tailored to them. Creative workshops, greeting card workshops, puppet shows, story-telling and fun quizzes will be held. Dany Laferrière will also have a workshop for kids and there will be a treasure hunt for families. Reading is a passion that is passed on from generation to generation and that’s why the festival has lots of free activities meant to awaken a love of story and writing in children.

Trade in your smartphone for a pen

At Correspondances d’Eastman, more than 1,500 handwritten letters and postcards will be sent around the worldwide. Magnificent writing gardens are set up so that visitors can write letters in a soothing, inspiring country ambience and enjoy art exhibitions.
