A can't-miss event from August 30 to September 3, 2018: KWE! Meet with Indigenous Peoples. Head to the Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale in Québec City for this 2nd edition, where you’ll learn more about the cultures, traditions and contemporary life of Quebec’s 11 Indigenous Nations in a festive ambience. Admission is free!

A moment of sharing and fun

Make the most of this special opportunity to learn about the cultures, history and spirit of Indigenous Nations. This friendly, brotherly get-together is a chance to celebrate, but above all, it’s a unique way to better know one another. The program of activities includes shows by talented Indigenous artists, exhibitions about the issues faced by Indigenous communities, short films, workshops on traditional knowledge, craft demonstrations and meetings with extraordinary people.

At the end of the day, witness the performances of amazing Indigenous artists. The opening show on Thursday August 30, 2018 will feature young musicians who participated in the Nikamu Manuitun artistic residency of the Festival de Petite Vallée 2017 as well as Innu artist Florent Vollant. As for the show on August 31, it will feature performances by the Beatrice Deer Band and Maten. On Saturday, September 1, get ready for an evening of hip-hop with performances by Q052, Anishnabe rapper Samian and Loco Locass along with some guest artists. The last day of shows, on September 2, 2018, will star Atikamekw singer-songwriter Pascal Ottawa, the band Midnight Riders and Innu musician David Hart.

Activities kids will love

During these five days of festivities, kids will get to enjoy all sorts of activities designed just for them. Makeup stations, traditional object-making workshops (dreamcatchers, corn husk dolls, bracelets, key chains) and many other surprises are in store! You won’t want to miss it!
