From August 4 to 7, the Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France TD offer an immersion in the 17th and 18th centuries exploring the theme of "Celebrating our Great Achievements". With its unique historical and festive atmosphere, entertainment, workshops and activities for all, the event highlights, in a playful way, a period during which Québec City played a pivotal role on the continent. In addition, the festivities feature a mouth-watering menu with the flavours of yesteryear. You won’t want to miss it!

Three neighbourhoods teeming with things to do

The people of New France were great builders. They shaped the city of Québec at its beginnings, and even today, we can still find traces of this era. For this 25th anniversary, their great achievements will be honoured on the Esplanade Park site, part of the Fortifications of Québec National Historic Site. The site will be divided into three neighbourhoods: the village, the port and the trading post, so that festival-goers can learn more about their arrival here and their way of life.

In the Village, you will experience an immersion to learn more about the social roles of the first settlers and featuring the great achievement of the Hôtel-Dieu. Meet the barber-surgeon or the architect. After dark, feast at the Auberge Coureur des Bois, where the innkeepers, who came directly from New France, will sometimes have a very colourful way of speaking!

Your adventure continues at the Port, around the ship! Exploring the themes of the Atlantic crossing, the merchant navy and the maritime trade of privateers, this section invites you to dive into the story of the first settlers. Enjoy a good local microbrewery beer with the captain and his esteemed sailors!

Finally, discover the trading post, a place dedicated to the fraternity that united the First Nations and the Europeans. This space will feature an exhibition of birchbark canoes. It will also be an opportunity to have a heart-to-heart encounter with Indigenous Peoples through the legends and myths of the First Nations.

The TD treasure hunt is back!

The people of New France have been hit by a temporal storm and are teleported to another time. The storm has displaced not only characters... but also entire neighbourhoods! An important mission is therefore underway to help citizens find the gold coins that will allow them to finance the reconstruction of three great achievements. Will you be able to help them by finding the giant coins scattered around Old Québec?
