Rediscover classical music at Festival Stradivaria!

Whether you are a fan of classical music or you wish to discover this spectacular musical genre, the 24th edition of the Stradivaria Festival, which takes place throughout the month of July in venues in the Laurentians and Lanaudière, will surely charm you. This very accessible festival brings together many musical styles such as pop, baroque, jazz, opera and of course classical. In short, there will be everything from Beethoven to Isabelle Boulay!

The festival’s artistic director, conductor and violinist Alexandre Da Costa, promises you an experience rich with emotion! Here are three shows you won’t want to miss.

A nostalgic, magnificent concert

STRADIVARIUS, JE ME SOUVIENS is a gala concert that pays tribute to the great French and Québécois songwriters and singers, including Luc Plamondon, Claude Dubois, Robert Charlebois, Charles Aznavour, Céline Dion, Ginette Reno and many others. Their classic songs are "symphonized" by Alexandre Da Costa and the musicians of the Orchestre Symphonique de Longueuil.

Singer-songwriter Claude Gauthier will join the musicians to offer you a new version of his hit song Le plus beau voyage. In addition, your evening will be not only musical, but funny as well. Oncle Georges, the alter ego of comedian Daniel Lemire, will be the master of ceremonies. All of the ingredients are in place for you to have a memorable evening.

This show is taking place on July 5 at 8 p.m. at the Théâtre le Patriote de Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts. Buy your tickets now!

A free evening with Viennese flair

The same team composed of Alexandre Da Costa and the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil is offering you the Stradivarius à Vienne show, completely free of charge, at the Saint-Jovite church in downtown Mont-Tremblant on July 21 at 7:30 p.m. Here’s your chance to hear the immortal works of Johann Strauss, such as The Blue Danube and Emperor Waltz, as well as the Tritsch-Tratsch Polka.

A guest of honour, virtuoso pianist Jean-Philippe Sylvestre, will join the musicians of the orchestra to offer you Mozart's concerto No 12. This spectacular musical moment is an opportunity to top off a fabulous day in the Laurentians in style.

A powerful, emotional show

During this GALA concert, the powerful and comforting voice of country singer Isabelle Boulay will gently envelop you for an intimate concert. She will be accompanied by pianist Benoit Sarrasin at the Saint-Jovite church in Mont-Tremblant as well. Showing great sensitivity, this concert will be presented on July 27 at 7:30 p.m.
