Who are the artists behind COZIC?

Monic Brassard and Yvon Cozic are the two halves of this artistic partnership. A couple in real life, the pair met at the École des beaux-arts de Montréal in the early 1960s. Although a myth exists that artistic genius can only be individual, COZIC has proven that a work of art can be the product of two heads. Over the years, their work has been shown in more than three hundred exhibitions across North America and Europe, and their career has been recognized by many prestigious awards.

Discover a significant figure in Québécois contemporary art

The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec is proud to present the first museum retrospective dedicated to COZIC, a creative duo described as a "two-headed, four-handed artist". The exhibition highlights the key moments and major artworks of their fascinating career. Among the achievements of COZIC has been their role in decompartmentalizing the visual arts in Quebec. Displaying a limitless creativity and exemplary originality, COZIC stood out during the Quiet Revolution by using unconventional media and creating works of art that demonstrate great versatility.
