Electrifying festivals and events

Quebec is world-renowned for its festive spirit! And that’s true all year round, but in the summer, our sense of celebration is on full display with hundreds of festivals and events that set the entire province ablaze. Music, gastronomy, sports, culture, major events (think the Francos the, le Festival international de jazz or the Festival d’été de Québec) and smaller celebrations (have you heard of the Festival country de Saint-Antonin?)... No matter what you love, you'll find a festival to suit your taste.

As a major player in the multimedia sector, Quebec has another reason to celebrate, both in the city and elsewhere! For example, from August 23 to 28 in Montreal, the MUTEK festival presents experiences, performances and creations by the brightest local and international talents of the electronic and digital scenes. Unity Electro Fest, a new electronic music festival, will also be held in Québec City on August 13. If you like to take advantage of the warm weather to discover new regions or are visiting Quebec's major cities, be sure to check out what's going on in the area, or make it the starting point for your next getaway!

Immersive illuminations and experiences

Quebec is also shining its creative light with extraordinary projections and nature experiences. The new Onwah’ Lumina illuminated nighttime trail in Wendake invites you to discover the Wendat Nation. In Gaspésie, the Nova Lumina experience offers a 1.5-km nocturnal route along the coast (June 24 to September 18). In the same style, but this time in the Eastern Townships, you can follow the Foresta Lumina multi-sensory sound and light trail from June 17 to October 9, at sunset. In Sorel-Tracy, a unique immersive experience awaits you under the Statera dome. In addition to an interactive course with projections, a new sensory station with wind and vibrations recreates the vantage point of a great blue heron – the region’s iconic bird - in flight!

Museums, art spaces and heritage sites

Quebec's creativity is rooted in centuries of culture and history marked by the First Peoples as well as by the French and British regimes. Why not take advantage of the summer to remember this and better understand how Quebec's culture has been shaped? Simply let your desires (and Mother Nature) guide you to visit museums, heritage sites and buildings and art galleries or take a stroll and admire urban artworks, or meet the 11 Indigenous Nations through creations, lodging, nature experiences and interpretation sites.
