Christmas markets: a staple in Quebec

A European tradition dating back more than 500 years, Christmas markets are also a big part of the season in Quebec. Although the festive character of Christmas markets will have to be put aside this year, organizers believe in the importance of encouraging local buying for the holidays. The Christmas markets in L’Assomption and Joliette have announced their dates already.

From November 28 to December 23, 2020, the L’Assomption Christmas Marketwill be taking place in the downtown area. Wooden booths will be set up and stocked with gift ideas and the best homegrown products. The style will be inspired by that of traditional European markets, and visitors will discover local craftmakers who produce quality items.

From November 27 to December 23, the Joliette Christmas Market welcomes visitors in a Scandinavian decor featuring 26 tiny houses on Place Bourget.

Both events will take place in compliance with public health measures and will bring some holiday joy and magic to all who visit!
