Inverness: Quebec’s art foundry capital

The Musée du Bronze d’Inverness – Centre d’interprétation de la fonderie d’art is truly a special place where you can not only admire the sculptures, but also touch them. While visiting the exhibit, you’ll be able to use the virtual reality headset to learn more about the art foundry. The museum is open until September.

If the weather’s nice and you want to enjoy the beautiful day after visiting the museum, take a walk through the open-air gallery in Inverness and follow the Art and Heritage self-guided tour via the BaladoDiscovery application. During this tour, you’ll learn about the artwork and its history, and the different elements of Inverness’s built heritage. The tour spans over two kilometres, and features more than 30 sculptures and 10 points of historical interest.

It goes without saying that maple products are naturally celebrated in the delectable L’Érable region, even during summer. Calling all maple lovers! Get your fill of sweet treats at the Produit d’érable St-Ferdinand B. boutique, open year-round. You’ll also find an array of other products and delicacies by local producers and processors in the region. You can sample scrumptious cheeses, meats and baked goods, along with fresh berries and vegetables. Pair all this with a delicious craft beer, and you’ll have everything you need for a delicious picnic!

The region also has tons of great spots to sit back, relax and enjoy local products, all the while taking in the breathtaking view!

Attractions you won’t want to miss!

The region’s wind farm, fishing spots, historic sites and landscapes, and bike paths are just some of the many attractions you won’t want to miss during your visit!

Stop and take some photos at one of the province’s largest, most impressive wind farms, which begins at Espace Sophia in Sainte-Sophie-d’Halifax.

While visiting the area, anglers can take their poles and head to Lac William, accessible via the Camping Plage de la Baie, and Lac Joseph, connected to the Camping des Bois-Francs. There’s plenty for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy, too! The Forêt ancienne sector of the Parc régional des Grandes-Coulées, located in Plessisville, has 10 kilometres of trails, obstacle courses, and a fishing route with more than 30 pools in the Rivière Noire that runs along the park’s trails. Lastly, if you want to enjoy all the region has to offer, head out on your bike or motorcycle and admire the flatlands, lakes and historic routes along the way.
