During this season, the Laurentians offer an abundance of activities for fans of the outdoors. A superb natural environment that is a pleasure to contemplate provides the ideal setting for fun and sports. High-quality tourist spots and resorts line the streets of hospitable villages and dot the forests and snow-covered mountains that are the key to this region’s winter charm. Let the Laurentians enchant you – you’ll be over the moon!

Magnificent parks to explore

The region is also home to many regional and provincial parks, among them the Parc national d’Oka and Parc national du Mont-Tremblant, where you can practise a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, snowshoeing, fatbiking, cross-country skiing, Nordic skiing, ice climbing, nature-watching, sliding and ice fishing. In some parks you can event go winter camping and stay in a fully equipped cabin.

The P’tit Train du Nord linear park stretches out over 200 km (124 mi.) and is a haven for cyclists in the summer. The stunning beauty along the trail is just as fantastic to admire in the wintertime for cross-country skiers, who can go from St-Jérôme to Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, and snowmobilers, who can ride north of Ste-Agathe-des-Monts to Mont-Laurier (except for a small segment).

Combine adventure and comfort

The Village Windigo resort is surrounded by nature. You can take advantage of equipment rentals for skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or fatbiking. The "rustic-chic" chalets and condos offer comfort and close contact with nature.

Located about a one-hour drive from Montreal, Auberge du Lac Morency is a place with tons of things to do, and the equipment to boot. After a day full of fun, you’ll appreciate a delicious fine dining meal at Chez Hippolyte, known for its wine cellar, and a relaxing cool down at the Nordic spa.

Close to that delightful inn you’ll find Aventures Plein Air St-Hippolyte, which specializes in adventure tourism and package deals and promises lots of thrills on their guided tours. Two of their favourites are dogsled rides and snowmobile tours.
