Temperatures are high, school is done for the year and a vacation is just around the corner. Round out your plans for the season with ideas of family activities to do in the Eastern Townships. Whether your cup of tea is museums, water parks or outdoor sports, in the Townships you can find your fancy in a countryside setting that takes your breath away!

Inspiration and awe await at the museum

The recently redone Museum of Ingenuity J. Armand Bombardier has a permanent exhibition composed of objects from the collections of J. Armand Bombardier. See how this genius fast-tracked his company to a world-class empire of transportation when you visit this museum that will surprise you with its bold, modern exhibition. Discover ingenuity!

Cool off at the Amazoo water park!

The Amazoo water park at Granby Zoo is cooler than ever! This year there’s even more fun to be had for all ages in a setting inspired by the Tropics. The Descentes de l’Amazonie are three slides for the whole family that snake down from the top of an almost-50-feet-tall tower. Grab a double sliding tube and hurtle down the Anaconda, which is fully covered, the Piranha, which has a giant bowl, or the Ara, which has both open and closed segments. Fifteen sections have also been added to the water park’s Rivière Aventure.

Original getaways styled in tradition and modernism

Hébergement aux Cinq Sens, in the Mégantic area, has five Mongolian-inspired yurts at the heart of a mixed forest in Piopolis. This company is a member of Quebec Aboriginal Tourism and offers an authentic experience showcasing Aboriginal culture and themed activities, such as legends around the bonfire and interactive entertainment. A completely different option is the “Cosy bubble”, an inflatable transparent cocoon just perfect for gazing up at the starry sky.

Au Pied Levé farm, sleep, eat, live

For active families that love the country, Au Pied Levé, just minutes from Magog, delivers a vacation full of agricultural activities. Learn more about the rearing of calves, cows, pigs, goats, geese, ducks, guinea fowl and wild turkeys and taste local flavours. There is also a delectable restaurant on site.
