Family fun in the Eastern Townships!
If you’re looking to spend time with your loved ones, there’s no need to wait for spring break. In the Eastern Townships, parents as well as children are sure to find what they love at any time of year! Choose from outdoor activities, visits to the museum or a trip to the zoo and fill your getaway with lovely family memories.

The zoo is open for winter? Of course!

Families who still have not had the experience of visiting Granby Zoo in the winter won’t want to miss out this year! Open for the season mostly on weekends between December 26 and April 17, this zoo welcomes you to see animals that find Quebec’s cold temperatures perfectly comfortable. The Amur tigers, red pandas, Japanese macaques and wallabies will be enjoying their snow-covered settings – and you can get a 50% discount on the usual price of admission in the summer. While you’re there, don’t miss out on the chance to practise your pirouettes on the new refrigerated ice rink, which is open until March 12.

Group fun!

Join the fun – the more the merrier! Head over to the Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook for an energizing game of Yukigassen. This sport invented in Japan is basically a huge snowball fight that combines elements of hockey, dodgeball and capture-the-flag. Teams of at least 14 players can make a reservation for this activity where the goal is to grab the opposing team’s flag. Another activity that is always a favourite: tube sliding, available at many locations throughout the region.

Take a break inside

When the temperature drops down to uncomfortable lows, there’s no reason you can’t spend a great day indoors. The Sherbrooke Nature and Science Museum is perfect for visitors who want to learn and have fun at the same time while discovering the many collections and exhibitions. Or you could go to the indoor amusement centres so that your little ones can stretch out their legs and expend their energy without having to go outdoors.
