This summer, take a break from your routine and relax somewhere different. Located in the Centre-du-Québec region, Nicolet-Yamaska is the perfect place to enjoy summer to the fullest! Located halfway between Montreal and Quebec City, the region has 15 municipalities, one city, and a First Nations reserve. Bike along the routes and trails … then on the river!

In Nicolet-Yamaska, you can travel on more than 400 kilometres of routes, most of which are relatively smooth, making it easy for cyclists of all levels to enjoy. Since 95% of these routes are flat, it’s the perfect opportunity to go bicycle touring. There are plenty of great stops along the way to get your fill of local delicacies and recharge your batteries. Nearby, discover scenic routes, cycling networks, and unique museums such as the Musée des cultures du monde and the Musée des Abénakis. In addition, the famous Route Verte spans over 70 kilometres across the region, specifically the Route Verte no. 4, which connects the MRCs of Drummond, Nicolet-Yamaska and Bécancour.

Vélo sur la rivière is back again this year, offering passengers an opportunity to relax and admire the beauty of the Saint-François River. Thanks to the participation of the Odanak community, the shuttle allows passengers to travel across the river, between Pierreville and Saint-François-du-Lac. The views along the river are well worth the exercise!

Thinking about extending your stay in the region? Spend a few extra days in the area and explore the many scenic routes to bird-watch or learn about the history of navigation on the Route des Navigateurs. Along this route, you’ll pass by tons of tourist attractions, including the Parc Écomaritime de l’Anse-du-Port and the Théâtre Belcourt.
