Bask in history at the Village Québécois d’Antan

The Village Québécois d’Antan is a large open-air theatre offering unique opportunities to travel back in time and get a glimpse of how Quebec’s ancestors used to live. This summer, a great upheaval awaits the villagers embodied by dozens of experienced actors. You’ll have a front-row seat to the unveiling of new technologies from the “big city” that will turn the daily lives of this small picturesque village upside down. With over 10.5 million dollars invested until 2025, the Village and its creative partner Moment Factory will plunge you into an incredible adventure filled with magic. Families looking for a fun activity and history buffs alike will be delighted!

Explore a waterfront park circuit

The Parc à parc waterfront circuit (website available in French only) is Drummondville’s hub for outdoor activities along both banks of Saint-François River. This circuit has no less than 14 interconnected parks covering over 20 kilometres. From the heart of the city to the countryside, you’ll stumble upon municipal parks, a magnificent riverfront boardwalk, nautical centres, forests and the majestic Parc régional de la Forêt Drummond. Visitors can also enjoy many activities: picnics, play modules, boat rides, hiking, swimming, water games, fishing, water equipment rentals and even a beach! Whether by boat, by bike or simply on foot, there’s no shortage of ways to see some of the region’s most beautiful views and admire its wildlife.

Immerse yourself in Quebecois culture at the summer theatre

Summer theatre is a long-standing seasonal tradition in Quebec, and Drummondville is keeping up with it! Throughout summer, the Maison des arts Desjardins Drummondville will present a play called “Le père Noël est une ordure” (show and website in French only), directed by André Robitaille and starring a host of local stage actors, at its summer theatre. The audience will be treated to a new rendition of this classic piece of French comedy following the misadventures of a group of volunteers on a Christmas night when nothing goes quite right. Be quick to book your tickets, as last summer’s play, Le dîner de cons, sold out well before opening night.
