Up close with animals and nature

The Ecomuseum Zoo, the only outdoor zoo on the island of Montreal, will bring you face to face with black bears, river otter, Canada lynx and birds of prey. Open year-round, the Ecomuseum Zoo is much more than a zoo, as it takes care of animals that are injured, orphaned or unable to return to the wild. Discover all about Quebec's wildlife in a magnificent environment!

Right next to the Ecomuseum Zoo, the Morgan Arboretum is home to a forest reserve that is as splendid as it is impressive. Nature is on display there no matter the season, but especially in the fall when the trees are vibrant with colour. Don't forget your picnic!

The pure joy of being near the water

The famous Boardwalk along the canal continues to be a must-see in the area. At the same time, you can stroll down Sainte-Anne Street to discover the many stores and restaurants, or visit the renowned Sainte-Anne Market, open on Saturdays, to find delicious local products.

Speaking of the canal, plan a stop at the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site, where the lock is still in operation. Discover its dominant role in the development of commercial operations and tourism in Canada during the second half of the 19th century. The many grassy areas make it a perfect site to enjoy the view of the Saint-Louis and Deux-Montagnes lakes.

Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is also a great destination for boating. At Paddle Mac, located on Macdonald Campus of McGill University, you can rent a kayak, paddleboard or canoe to paddle the waters of the majestic Lake Saint Louis. Paddlers of all levels are welcome!

Aeronautical history at the forefront

Also located on Macdonald Campus, the le Montreal Aviation Museum is dedicated to showcasing the history of aviation with a special focus on Quebec's contributions. Civil and military aviation are represented by aircrafts, artifacts and remarkable paintings by renowned Canadian artists.
