No one could argue against the beauty of the Eastern Townships’ landscapes in the winter. Or against the harshness of Quebec’s cold! When your little darlings are tired of always having to bundle up, of feeling their noses freeze and their fingers turn to icicles, take shelter from the snow, wind and ice indoors with fun activities. Treat your kids to a day just for them at a fun centre or suggest a visit to the museum, where you’ll be protected against extreme temperatures.

A Great Spot for your Tots

Would your kids enjoy hopping into a ball pit, exploring huge structures, sliding and jumping? They can have it all at the Grimpe et Partou fun centre in Granby and the Monde de Tikito centre in Magog, where they can have fun with friends and channel their bottomless supply of energy. Both these centres also have a play area especially for toddlers under three years of age, so they can play safely.

For trips lasting several days, consider Hotel Chéribourg from the Villegia Hotels chain located near Mont Orford. The hotel’s Chéri Club, supervised at all times, will be a hit with your kids ages 12 and under, as they have a blast in the huge inflatable game. With video games, pool tables, air hockey tables, arts and crafts, board games and more, your little ones have a variety of activities at their fingertips.

Learn More at the Museum

Another great indoor activity: a visit to the museum. Choose the one your family would like best and head over to the Sherbrooke Nature and Science Museum, the Cherry River Marsh interpretation centre in Magog or the Lune de Miel honey factory in Stoke.

How About Some Horseback Riding?

If you want another kind of winter sport, why not take a shine to horseback riding? The centres in the Townships invite families looking for original activities to saddle up this winter. Or you could choose the cozy version – huddle under a thick blanket as you admire the surroundings on a carriage ride at Centre d’équitation Jacques Robidas in North Hatley.
