Escape to a chalet in one of the largest private natural reserves in North America. Give in to the calm, quiet and fresh air of this huge, 100-square-mile territory in Montebello in the Outaouais region. The site of Kenauk Nature, dotted with 65 lakes and 4- or 5-star chalets, is the perfect combination of wilderness and comfort and promises an experience that is out of the ordinary. The good news? You can go even in the winter.
Picture this: you’re miles into the forest; you’re driving up to your chalet for a getaway; you follow the water, uncertain of what awaits you, then you see it! A luxurious chalet on the lake, nestled in the woods, with a full kitchen, a heating system and a water heater and at least one full bathroom. A construction in harmony with nature where solar energy powers the refrigerator and water pump. Proof that you can be both deep in the forest and comfortable!
During winter, the number of chalets available to rent will be not just three, but seven! Upscale dwellings where you’re guaranteed to spend amazing moments with your loved ones. The new Papineau Chalet can house up to 19 people, and the Tricorne is a recently moved and newly renovated 1930s log cabin. To make sure you stay warm, the 4-season chalets are equipped with either a stone fireplace, a furnace or wood stove.
Cross-country skiers will be thrilled with the beauty and tranquility of the Kenauk Nature trails that include 15 km (9.3 mi.) of forest trails in addition to the 12 km (7.4 mi.) that connect the main building to the Fairmont Le Château Montebello resort, where you can take advantage of the sports facilities. And now you can also rent snowshoes for a walk on the marked trails. This year Kenauk Nature offers dogsledding and nature discovery package deals.
