A short walk from the downtown area will lead you into the old district of Trois-Rivières for a trip back in time. Discover the architecture and buildings of the second city to be founded in North America. If you want to continue your historical exploration, head over to the Musée des Ursulines, a testament to the arrival of nuns in the year 1697 and their involvement in the city. Continue along to the L’Assomption Cathedral founded in the 19th century and the Manoir Boucher de Niverville, which is the city’s oldest building. The Old Prison of Trois-Rivières is also a major local attraction and features a number of organized tours to show visitors about how the inmates used to live.

Take a bit of time to catch your breath and stop by the riverside park for a lovely stroll and a great view.
