Université Laval's Musée de géologie René-Bureau boasts the largest and oldest geological collection in Quebec. The collection boasts over 40,000 specimens representing the world's geological heritage. Intended to raise awareness of the Earth sciences by presenting an overview of the Earth's geological diversity, the Museum is open to the public free of charge at all times, and is directly involved in university teaching.
