Only 45 minutes from Québec, the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area is a mosaic of beautiful landscapes. Located at the junction of the river, the coastal wetlands, the plains and the mountains, this exceptional site holds a 20 km (12 mi) network of hiking trails. A major Canadian ornithological site (300 species of birds recorded), the area hosts thousands of spectacular snow geese in the spring and the fall. Participate in interpretation activities and make sure to bring the kids, who will surely want to become members of the Club de Captou. In winter, enjoy the network of snow-packed hiking trails (6 km/4 mi), adorned with bird feeders and heated stopover points (on the weekend). Other services include: an interpretation centre, exhibits, films, parking, light dining, a souvenir shop, picnic areas and accessibility for mobility-impaired persons.
