Celebrate Christmas at Exporail!

How would you like to explore the largest railway museum in the country this holiday season? Exporail, the Canadian Railway Museum invites you for enchanting holiday activities that are sure to delight your inner child!

Have a magical time during Railway Christmas

From November 24 to January 3, Exporail presents Railway Christmas, a can't-miss event for the whole family that brings you the magic of the season with decorated trains, special activities and even an appearance from Santa Claus. Kids can go to the craft workshop where they will create their own Christmas tree ornament. They’ll also get to express their creativity and tempt their sweet tooth with a Christmas cookie decorating activity. Participants will receive a locomotive-shaped cookie and everything they need to make it look festive.

Enchanting displays and a meeting with Santa Claus

Upon entering the Grand Gallery, visitors will immediately be immersed in the holiday atmosphere thanks to the decorated vehicles, illuminated locomotives and an elves' sleigh. Christmas stockings will be hidden throughout the vehicles, so be sure to keep your eyes open to spot them! A small electric train under the 12-foot tall tree in the Grand Gallery is sure to pique the curiosity of visitors, who will want to head to the model train room to see the two operating systems.

Children will be able to send their letter to Santa Claus in the mail-express car until December 10 and then meet him in person on December 16, 17 and 23 in the Grand Gallery, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Railway Christmas is also a chance to board the Christmas Train! Kids will also get to meet Santa Claus on the train on December 2, 9 and 10.
