Arts and crafts are the expression of people’s talents as creators of objects that sometimes have a specific purpose and always present a unique artistic touch. Artisans often work alone or in small teams, using a small set of tools to produce works of art such as pottery, decorative items, tableware, furniture, ceramics, textiles, glass, and so on, in limited series or single quantities. One thing is certain, arts and crafts always have the unique touch of their creator and are of great artistic beauty. Thanks to the Société ÉCONOMUSÉE® du Québec, it’s often possible to visit artisans in their own workshops, discover their craft, and talk to them about their work methods, their career and their passion. Many gatherings and craft shows are organized year-round, bringing several artisans together at one place.
