At the
Cap de Bon-Désir Interpretation and Observation Centre, Parks Canada welcomes you to enjoy an exceptional point of view for observing whales. Located 20 minutes from Tadoussac on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, Cap de Bon-Désir neighbours the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park where many marine mammals and birds live. Experience the thrill of seeing minke whales, seals and belugas as they approach the shore. Cap de Bon-Désir provides such a great panorama of the St. Lawrence River that a lighthouse was erected there in 1941. Visit the exhibition “On the Lookout!” to hear the lighthouse’s history as told by its keepers and learn more about navigation. Head to the shore and take part in the featured activity “Ocean Encounters”, in company of interpreters. You will discover the colourful animals living in the St. Lawrence Estuary: starfish, anemone, sea cucumbers and more. Fun and discovery for all!
