The Route verte is now present in the Manicouagan region with the addition of the Véloroute des Baleines
. This superb cycling route, which runs through settings of the St. Lawrence River, lakes, mountains and forest, covers 230 kilometres (over 140 miles) between Tadoussac/ Sacré-Coeur and Baie-Trinité, taking you through Baie-Comeau and the renowned Garden of the Glaciers. On bike, you’ll be able to keep eyes and ears focused on the river, and maybe you’ll catch sight of a whale! The Véloroute is partly found on the shoulder of Route 138, near the St. Lawrence River; there are also several side segments available so you can discover villages and get closer to the river. Additionally, over 95% of the distance has a one-metre wide shoulder or more. It is also possible to take a ferry service to cycle magnificent loops on the south shore of the river.
