Located in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien continues to delight animal and outdoor enthusiasts year after year. The Zoo has more than 400 animals of 75 different species living in spacious enclosures resembling their natural habitats. In the summer, you can dine with your family at the restaurant on site or pack a meal to enjoy at a picnic table!

A ride on the Boreal Train: the Zoo’s star attraction

Riding the caged train through the Nature Trails Park is a must when visiting the Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien. This popular activity is also what put the Zoo on the map! Visitors of all ages love taking a ride on the Boreal Train. In the summer, the ride through the trails lasts one hour. You’ll travel through the different ecosystems and explore wide-open landscapes—some replicated and others completely natural—where you’ll observe animals roaming semi-freely. The train runs daily during the high season.

An up-close view in the pedestrian section

After riding the train, visit the pedestrian section to continue exploring the Zoo at your own pace. With several kilometres of trails for the whole family, the pedestrian section is divided into seven areas, including the Kid’s Farm, the Ethiopian Plateaus, the Arctic Tundra and Eastern Asia. Explore the boreal biodiversity and observe many animals, including the Zoo’s famed polar bears, adorable red pandas and, of course, the majestic Amur tiger!
