The starting whistle will sound on July 16, 2023 in Abitibi-Témiscamingue for the ninth edition of the l’Express H2O Desjardins d’Amos race. Amateur and expert runners are expected at the starting line for various races on foot, taking place as part of H2O le festival Agnico Eagle, from July 13 to 16.

New this year at l’Express H2O Desjardins

The only race in the area to offer a marathon distance, l’Express H2O Desjardins d’Amos is open to runners of all levels from novices to die-hards. Runners can choose their distance, thanks to options varying from 1 to 42.2 kilometres. Routes are accessible to strollers, carts and joëlettes, though some are fine gravel paths. New routes have been specially drawn to give runners the chance to see iconic parts of the city, including parc Lion, the Ulrick Chérubin footbridge, the Harricana river, the Amos cathedral and the Forex promenade. Are you up for the challenge? Registration takes place online, until midnight on July 9 at the latest. Don't wait: the first 200 athletes to register will have the chance to win one of 75 mystery prizes!

A more sustainable festival this year

This year the l’Express H2O Desjardins d’Amos race has been completely reworked with an eye to sustainability. The organizing committee has considered the environmental impact of an event of this kind and made major efforts to reduce its environmental footprint. Medals reused from previous years, water bottle refill stations, biodegradable cups, energizing gel in bulk and reusable sponges are some examples of sustainable, eco-friendly measures that have been put in place.
