It’s well-known that the Saguenay region is a massive playground spread out over kilometres of land featuring many different landscapes, each possessing breathtaking beauty. This rings true especially in the winter, when the snow-covered mountains offer outdoor aficionados numerous attractions and a host of activities from the most contemplative to the most thrilling. For a quick trip or a long stay, on your own, with family or among friends, Saguenay is the destination to choose to indulge in the joys of winter!

Snowmobile paradise

Each year, on average, the region receives six metres of snow that cover its 3,800 kilometres of maintained snowmobile paths. With numbers like that, it should come as no surprise that Saguenay carries the nickname “Snowmobilers’ Paradise!” And there is something for every kind of enthusiast: novices are awed to discover the grandiose lookouts the region offers and experienced outdoor fans always hanker to get back to the pride of the region: fresh powder. Don’t have your own snowmobile? Many businesses offer rentals and guide services for one or several days.

Ha! in a new light, populated by villages made up of colourful fishing cabins. A must-visit destination for your ice fishing getaway is the Glaces du Fjord (website available in French only), which is also close to plenty of great activities in the area.
