A new temporary exhibition to discover
On until January 2026, Retro – Popular Music in Canada From the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s will take you back in time to an exciting era of liberation and of challenging conventions. Much more than just entertainment, the music of the time conveyed a message of change, was a form of self-expression and brought the generations together.
Explore the many iconic objects, admire the handwritten lyrics and listen to music from the era, by artists like Céline Dion, Gilles Vigneault, Kashtin and Rush.
A unique sensory experience that will bring back many fond memories!
A playground to awaken the imagination
The Museum has a brand-new outdoor playground designed for children between 18 months and 12 years old. This vast multi-zone space includes accessible play equipment, areas for creative and quiet play, as well as a large grassy space toddlers can explore and unleash their imagination in.
Families can also use the picnic areas, admire two art installations on Gatineau’s Culture Trail and discover several sculptures and works of art scattered throughout the park.
These outdoor areas perfectly complement a family visit to the Museum.
A beautiful riverside patio to enjoy
From Thursday to Saturday, the Panorama Patio is a great place to spend a beautiful summer evening. Open to both Museum visitors and the general public, it offers breathtaking sunset views, with the Ottawa River, Parliament Hill and the beautiful surrounding gardens as the backdrop. Order mouthwatering creative platters to share, paired with local craft beer or a signature cocktail, from the bistro-style menu.
Music shows liven up the patio some evenings, creating an inviting, festive and friendly atmosphere. Enjoy summer’s pleasures in an enchanting setting!
