For a delicious and unique experience, step into the wonderful world of Ferme du Mihouli. Open since last June, this farm has already made a name for itself as an agritourism destination in the Montérégie region. Thanks to its impressive kiwi farm (yes that’s right, kiwis!), discover a unique fusion between Quebec terroir and this Asian fruit in a rural setting.
La Ferme du Mihouli
Do kiwis grow in Quebec? Yes, they can! That's what Nadine Gelly and Claude Gagnon, the duo behind Ferme du Mihouli (website in French only), discovered while searching for new plants to add to their garden. At the time, both owners were pursuing careers in management and finance, but they also shared a family heritage in agriculture and an appreciation for farming. The beautiful vines of the kiwi plant charmed them and a great project was born: to share their love of the land and their discoveries by opening an Arctic kiwi farm.
The Ferme du Mihouli is more than just a farm: it's also a new foodie destination.
Treat yourself to a country brunch at La Grande Tablée des récoltes on September 28 in the heart of the fields. The five-course meal will, of course, feature the Arctic kiwi fruit, enhanced by the talent of Quebec chefs. An end-of-summer event not to be missed!
On Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., stop by the Espace Terroir Commun. On the menu: wood-fired pizzas, European hot dogs, homemade cheeses and charcuterie, as well as several local beers and wines.
In the evening, why not opt for dinner at the Buvette de la Barbotte with its local wine list and table d'hôte menu concocted by chef Jean-Simon Petit and local invited chefs?
Craving an experience of total immersion? La Ferme du Mihouli has a lovely residence available for rent. You’ll have the entire house to yourself – ideal for unwinding and enjoying the land as if you lived there.
In addition to gastronomic experiences, you can learn about Arctic kiwi cultivation and unleash your inner farmer by participating in hands-on tasks!
Enjoy the tranquility of nature during your stay: this enchanting place is bordered by the Richelieu River and beautiful forest trails, perfect for a peaceful walk. A bike ride on the nearby bike paths is another great way to enjoy the soothing scenery.
Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Ferme du Mihouli and take part in a unique experience in Quebec!
