Parc Le Trou de la Fée
Incredible hiking trails
The park's 4 hiking trails are accessible to all ages. Each trail offers a different view, allowing you to discover the park's natural beauty. What's more, the trails are filled with infrastructure that lets you explore in a whole new way. Walkways hooked directly onto the rocky headland and suspension bridges give you access to areas that would otherwise be difficult to reach. You'll be able to enjoy some of the best views in the park!
On the De la Montagne trail (0.53 km), you can walk across a glass floor 60 m above the Métabetchouane River. It will give you a dizzying view of the beauty of the landscape.
And don't miss a walk along the water supply pipeline, a hike that combines nature and history.
Embrace your inner explorer
Intrigued by the underground world? Take a unique 30-minute tour of the cave. It's the only one of its kind in Canada, and it's carved out in the Canadian Shield.
In the company of a guide, you can explore the cave's 3 chambers and learn more about its creation and the mystery of the fairy. The temperature is only 4.5°C, so don't forget a warm sweater!
This cave is also the only protected natural hibernaculum for brown bats in Quebec. A great opportunity to find out a little more about these little-known flying mammals!
A one-of-a-kind immersive show
To continue your immersion into the underground world, step into the fascinating projection room carved right into the granite of the Canadian Shield, where you’ll see a show all about the park’s major events.
ÉCHO, la mémoire des pierres (Echo, the memory of stones) is a 360-degree projection that shows the evolution of the territory, from the ice age to the present day. Supported by sound effects and skillfully orchestrated lights, this show is definitely not to be missed!
For visitors with reduced mobility
Visitors can consult a timeline that takes a more in-depth look at the major events presented in the show from an adapted workstation. It also presents information on bats and the ouananiche Atlantic salmon. What's more, a virtual reality tour of the cave is offered, followed by a breathtaking flyover of the river!
