Discover the civilizations of the Gulf of Mexico

On until September 15, 2024, the temporary exhibition Olmecs and the Civilizations of the Gulf of Mexico unveils the fascinating history of the Olmecs, the earliest known civilization in Mesoamerica. Close to 300 masterpieces and symbolic objects, some of which will be on display for the first time in Canada, including a colossal basalt stone head, jaguar-man statues, and sculptures dating back thousands of years. Enjoy this rare and unique opportunity to delve into nearly 4,000 years of history and discover this civilization’s remarkable heritage, traditions, beliefs and rituals.


Explore the history of Saint-Henri

From the founding of the artisanal village of Saint-Henri-des-Tanneries to a prosperous industrial town to today’s thriving neighbourhood, the exhibition The Heart and Soul of Saint-Henri traces the fascinating living history of this unique corner of Montreal. By showcasing the daily lives of past and present inhabitants, the exhibition provides a captivating glimpse into the heart and soul of Saint-Henri, revealing the transformations and social struggles that have shaped it over the centuries. The exhibition is on until May 11, 2025. You won’t want to miss it!

Experience summer on the Pointe

Until September 3, Pointe-à-Callière will host Summer on the Pointe, a buffet of free outdoor activities in the heart of Old Montreal. A true urban oasis, the area between Place Royale and Place D’Youville becomes a pedestrian-only zone during summer. There will be picnic tables and Adirondack chairs outside the museum, so you can soak up the sun with family or friends, while enjoying this historic site, a testament to Montreal’s vibrant past. Exploration and fun await you all summer long at Pointe-à-Callière!
