A tapestry of living heritage at the Ulverton Wool Mill
Published on June 30, 2025 • Attractions to discover
This summer, get ready to discover a lively, fascinating and family-friendly site full of surprises at the Ulverton Wool Mill. It’s more than just a tourist destination—it’s an experience!

Ulverton Wool Mill
At the Ulverton Wool Mill in the Eastern Townships, each thread tells a story. The old machines still hum, the dedicated guides weave tales of the past, and the Ulverton River echoes with the memory of those who once worked there. In this peaceful and vibrant space, visitors can explore the world of wool and the beauty of the landscape around them.
Fil & Tradition: where craftsmanship comes to life
The Fil & Tradition series transforms the mill into a workshop, a stage, and a place of discovery. From July 6 to October 26, 2025, artistry takes centre stage with weaving and felting classes, macramé wall art activities, and natural dyeing workshops. Each activity is a shared piece of heritage.
Whether you’re solo, or with friends or family, these workshops let you touch the materials, learn the techniques, and meet local artisans (and maybe even bring home a handmade piece from the gift shop!) It’s a living tribute to meticulous, thoughtful craftsmanship—creations made with patience, skill, and heart.
A magical movie night under the stars
On July 19, 2025, head to the mill with friends or family for Sous les étoiles au moulin, a special outdoor movie night (please note that the French-language versions of the movies will be screened). On the menu: local drinks, a popcorn bar, and a starry sky! The evening lineup features Elli et l’équipe des monstres, an animated film for the kids, and Bergers, a feature film by Sophie Deraspe, for the grown-ups.
Grab a spot on the grass, enjoy a picnic, and share some laughs and good conversation. Little ones can run around and play, while adults can relax and savour the moment. A peaceful evening, hand-stitched to inspire unforgettable memories!
Festi-Enfant, a celebration of heritage
On August 3, 2025, make your way to the mill for Festi-Enfant, a day dedicated to fun and laughter for kids. The entire site becomes a vibrant playground with traditional games, creative workshops, storytelling sessions, lively entertainment, and delicious old-fashioned treats. Each activity teaches kids about heritage through touch, sound, play, and imagination. But that’s not all! Visitors ages 20 and under can explore the mill’s history with the augmented reality tour for free. A simple, fun-filled day, where the past turns into a world of discovery!
