Culture Trois-Rivières
Experience Transformations at Boréalis, a newly renovated permanent exhibition set inside the former water filtration plant. Through powerful testimonials, striking artifacts, and interactive challenges, you’ll learn about the difficult conditions workers faced in the last century before shifting your focus to the technological and environmental issues shaping this ever-evolving industry. You’ll even have the chance to craft your own sheet of handmade paper!
During summer, Histoire sur l’eau (“History on the water”) takes visitors on a contemplative journey through the history of log driving and the Saint-Maurice River. Aboard electric boats, you’ll navigate the very waters where thousands of logs once floated toward the city’s paper mills.
An original soundtrack gives the river a voice, telling the story of its transformations and the forgotten events it has witnessed. Interwoven with moving, memory-filled testimonials, the experience encourages visitors to discover this important yet often overlooked industrial heritage from a fresh perspective.
