Play Sherlock Holmes in the fresh winter air
The Sherlock Holmes: Cracking the Case exhibition will be venturing outside during spring break. Meet museum staff out front for the free activities that are part of its special program. Your mission? Complete five challenges touching on science and history.
These fun educational games, facilitated by the museum’s team, are inspired by famous detective Sherlock Holmes, but also by Montréal’s fascinating past. Children and their family members are invited to think like a detective—and act like an archaeologist—in an investigation that will spark laughter as well as learning. Your budding detectives will have a blast in enchanting snow-covered Old Montréal.
Inside the Museum, the Sherlock Holmes: Cracking the Case exhibition (paid admission) will be on until March 8, 2026, if you would like to end the outing on a warmer note. A family pass for two adults and two children is $60.
Discover Montréal’s alleyways in an interactive experience
Did you know that several of Montréal’s back alleys are also historic sites, natural living environments and art galleries? Explore these heritage spaces unique to the city in the Alley-oop – An Interactive Adventure exhibition, which has been extended until January 10, 2027.
Visit the five stations, featuring visual projections, archives and interactive fun. Stroll through the urban exploration route, or move, jump and play with the movement-responsive installations to immerse yourself in the infectious energy of Montréal’s iconic alleyways. And since alleys call to mind alley cats, put on your investigator’s cap and follow the clues that will lead you to Louis-Hector, the missing tomcat.
Educational, fun and colourful, Alley-oop is sure to please the whole family!
